North West Children's Major Trauma Network

North West & North Wales Transport Service (NWTS)

The North West and North Wales Transport Service (NWTS) is a collaborative venture between Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and has been commissioned by the Specialist Commissioning Team in the North West to transfer critically ill children from District General Hospitals to one of the two Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) within the North West and North Wales area.

NWTS works closely with the Paediatric Critical Care ODN to support the development of guidelines and pathways.

North West Children's Major Trauma Network

The North West Children’s Major Trauma Operational Delivery Network (NWChMTODN) is a network across the North West of England , North Wales and The Isle of Man that provides a service for children who have experienced a major trauma . Any child that is under 16 years old that has experienced major trauma is taken as quickly and safely as possible to one of the two Children’s Major Trauma Centres in the North West (either Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool or Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital). To enable this to happen depends on close partnership working with pre-hospital care, Major Trauma Centres , Trauma Units, Local Emergency Hospitals , and Rehabilitation Services.

North West Children's Cancer ODN

The North West Children’s Cancer Operational Delivery Network (NWCCODN) works in partnership with 2 Principal Treatment Centre’s (PTC), 7 Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Units (POSCUs) and 3 supra-network POSCUs. These 12 providers care for patients and families within the Northwest of England, North Wales and Isle of Man.

Lancashire & South Cumbria Critical Care & Major Trauma Network

 

The Lancashire & South Cumbria Critical Care and Major Truma Specialised Service Clinical Network are a team of health care services and professionals within the NHS mandated to work collaboratively with our partner trusts to provide a high standard of care for patients requiring major trauma treatment or admitted to critical care across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Northern Burn Care Network

The Northern Burn Care Network (NBCN) is an operational delivery network (ODN) for specialised burn care services. Our aim is to enhance and standardise the delivery of care to adult and paediatric patients who have suffered a burn injury or a skin loss condition.

The network consists of ten hospitals providing specialised care for people with burn injuries across the north of England (including the North East, North West and Yorkshire and the Humber), North Wales and the Isle of Man, serving a population of around 17 million people.

Greater Manchester Adult Critical Care & Major Trauma

We are a collective of NHS health care services and professionals mandated to work together to provide high quality care for patients in Greater Manchester who have sustained injuries following major trauma, or who have developed illness requiring critical care services.

The Network’s focus is the delivery of effective and safe patient pathways; the Skills Institute provides education and training for staff who deliver those pathways in a critical care environment.

Northwest, North Wales and The Isle of Man Congenital Heart Network

North West Neonatal ODN

The North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (NWNODN)  aims to provide high quality neonatal care to babies and their families. Within the NWNODN there are twenty-two neonatal units and one neonatal transport service all providing twenty-four hour care for sick and premature neonates.

Congenital Heart Network

The purpose of the lifelong Congenital Heart Disease Network is to bring together a wide range of providers to work across  organisational boundaries to ensure that everyone has access to high quality, evidenced-based care. The goal of the Northwest, North Wales and The Isle of Man Congenital Heart Network is to address and reduce inequality and improve patient experience and outcomes. We work with the principle of putting the patient at the heart of services. We are committed to developing excellent CHD services through every stage of a person’s journey.

Anyone with congenital heart disease in the Northwest, North Wales and the Isle of Man will receive the right care at the right time at the right place by the right person and be happy with that care.

The Children’s Hospital Alliance (CHA) is a national network of specialist NHS trusts working together to improve the quality, access and experience of hospital care for children and families.
