Welcome to the Education Hub for the North West Children’s Paediatric Critical Care, Surgery in Children & Long Term Ventilation Operational Delivery Network

The ODN Education Team is dedicated to making learning accessible and engaging for everyone across the North West region. As a team we design educational programmes, create learning resources, and facilitate training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills of nurses within the North West. 

Our team includes four educators who work collaboratively with local educators and both tertiary centres to ensure effective learning experiences. Our educators each support a different region of the North West, covering Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, Greater Manchester, Lancashire & South Cumbria, and the Isle of Man. Our goal is to provide high-quality education, promote professional development, and support continuous learning through various formats. In addition to supporting the existing education provided by local educators, we offer bespoke study days on PCC, SIC, and LTV, including simulation training with our high-fidelity Laerdal SimBaby. In addition to offering local study days, we also assist in facilitating:

• SIC Pre-operative Practitioner course
• LTV Invasive & Non- invasive study days

Coupled with face to face to face education, we have created online learning materials to support our study days. You will receive an email with details on how to access Moodle Workplace prior to your study day. Use the provided username and password, along with the quick link below, to access our Moodle Workplace site and explore the materials in advance. Additionally to this our educators have created resources which include; ventilator resources, information on the pre-operative assessment practitioner course & other useful guidance.
